The bookplates of Thomas Parkin and Hugh Whistler, inscribed by Whistler for Parkin and tipped in a letter from Parkin to Whistler and a signed photograph "Thomas Parkin, Australia, 1891".

An exceptional provenance, Hugh Whistler wrote the standard "Popular Handbook of Indian birds" 1928 as well as a book on Himalayan natural history in 1924. Thomas Parkin was a prominent British egg collector who wrote, and privately published, two papers on the Great Auk.
